Building for the web
I've been building for the Web since the days of Geocities, when we were called "webmasters." I started by creating websites in tables in the 90s, and since then, I've kept up with all the latest web standards. Always ready to learn new things and adopt new emerging tech like AI.
Career at Intuit
Throughout my career at Intuit, I've looked for roles where I could grow — from marketing design into design systems work that scales across products and teams.
I started in tax product marketing, then pivoted into design systems by contributing shared components to the company web platform — a move that led to promotion from senior to staff designer.
A mobility move and a new team gave me more opportunities to build my design system craft.
In 2021 I spent part of my time embedded with the company design system while still in product marketing, sharpening skills in typography, iconography, component specs, and cross-team alignment.
In August 2022 I joined that team full time. I unified marketing and web components and patterns that had drifted apart so teams across business units could design from one library instead of maintaining duplicate buttons, links, forms, and more.
Since then I've launched programs that let designers contribute back to the system, co-led the strategy to consolidate dozens of duplicated components and modernize tokens, and helped ship patterns for AI-assisted product experiences.
Today I combine systems design with AI enablement — building plugins, skills, and workflows that speed up audits, documentation, and handoff without sacrificing consistency. I consolidate fragmented libraries into one source of truth, partner on major brand refreshes from strategy through rollout, and host a weekly Figma educational program for 200+ designers across the company.
I mentor designers and interns along the way — including hands-on guidance on systems craft and how to use AI in everyday workflow. As the most senior individual contributor on our foundations team, I'm focused on infrastructure that outlasts any single project — so teams can design and ship as one.
Outside work
When I'm not working, I love hanging out in sunny LA with my wife. We're always exploring and trying out awesome new restaurants. When we're back at home we're watching movies on the couch with our weenie dog, Kirby.
